1. Quote from Margaret Atwood

What is your own set of rules for writing?

They’re more like habits, and they’ve varied over time. I don’t think much about it, and the reason for that is this: Anybody who’s ever done any downhill skiing knows that if you stop in the middle and say, How am I doing this? you will fall over. The goal is to assimilate it to such an extent that you’re not consciously thinking about it.

There is no excuse. If you want to write, write. This is your life, you are responsible for it. You will not live forever. Don’t wait. Make the time now.

  7. I love this talk. The idea that your creative genius is not necessarily part of you, but something on loan to you is  fantastic way of thinking about writing and overcoming that idea of writers’ block or getting a seemingly great idea at a time when you just can’t write it down.
